Biography 

Müge Yıldız lives and works in Istanbul, studied Cinema (BA), Faculty of Communication at Galatasaray University, Cinema (BA-Erasmus) in Paris III Sorbonne Nouvelle, and studies Philosophy (MA) Institute for Social Sciences of Galatasaray University. She works with moving images and photography. She uses film (super 8mm, super 35mm), video and archive footage to create experimental films and expanded cinema.

Her artistic works explore political, ethnographic and philosophical themes, including questions related our existence in everyday life. Her artwork evokes emotions that have been drawn from her experiences travelling the globe, she can be inconspicuous as an observer, also termed as a ghost. Her cinematic installation strives to become lieu de mémoire (site of memory) and seeks non-places.

She also writes articles on cinema and music in several art magazines and her cinematic works have been nationally and internationally screened in various museums, galleries and film festivals, including Istanbul Modern and Pera Museum.
